The plant–mycorrhizal fungi collaboration gradient depends on plant functional group

چکیده

Plant colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) is widespread and can offer considerable benefits in terms of growth, nutrient uptake plant yield. However, it still unresolved how different species functional groups respond to AMF taxa. Here we established 336 grassland microcosms determine the response 14 displaying contrasting (grasses, legumes non-leguminous forbs) for presence three For each species, calculated degree which growth depended on (i.e. dependency [MD]). We also determined relied specific taxa optimal sensitivity [MSS]). Additionally, whether MD MSS correlated traits root length [SRL], leaf area [SLA]). The ranged from −84.9% a non-mycorrhizal (Luzula campestris) +94.0% legume (Trifolium arvensis). was systematically higher (91.9% ± 2.4%), followed forbs (77.1% 11.06) grasses (42.1% 15.73%). less variable (8.9%–37.7%); independent group did not correlate with MD. linked various parameters, including (R2 = +0.80) total dry biomass +0.32). Moreover, among plants (n 12), negatively SRL −0.24) positively SLA +0.24). Synthesis. This study shows that relying production show colonization, lower SRL, are interlinked way AMF. the effect of functional/notional approach on the proficiency level of efl learners and its evaluation through functional test

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...

Support from the underground: Induced plant resistance depends on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi

1. Mycorrhizal symbiosis is thought to affect interactions between plants and herbivores by its influence on plant growth, nutrition and the plants defence system. Moreover, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) may enhance the inducibility of resistance responses. Until now, induction of plant resistance has not been considered to be a mechanism affecting the outcome of mycorrhization for plant-h...

Soil Fungi-Plant Interaction

One of the main European agricultural problems is the decline in soil fertility due to the reduction of the natural soil harmony. When natural soil composition is altered, few cultivated plants replace spontaneous populations of numerous species. Man becomes the only regulator of a new fragile equilibrium between the simplified biocenosis elements. Agronomic techniques (fertilisation, irrigatio...

Responses of Crop Pests and Natural Enemies to Wildflower Borders Depends on Functional Group

Increased homogeneity of agricultural landscapes in the last century has led to a loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services. However, management practices such as wildflower borders offer supplementary resources to many beneficial arthropods. There is evidence that these borders can increase beneficial arthropod abundance, including natural enemies of many pests. However, this increase in loc...

The plant cell wall-decomposing machinery underlies the functional diversity of forest fungi.

Brown rot decay removes cellulose and hemicellulose from wood--residual lignin contributing up to 30% of forest soil carbon--and is derived from an ancestral white rot saprotrophy in which both lignin and cellulose are decomposed. Comparative and functional genomics of the "dry rot" fungus Serpula lacrymans, derived from forest ancestors, demonstrated that the evolution of both ectomycorrhizal ...
